What is Husky Giving Day?

On Husky Giving Day, alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff and friends around the world come together to support the University of Washington and make a lasting impact. During this 24-hour celebration of giving, every gift powers the UW's people, programs and possibilities.

Making Your Gift

How can I give securely on Husky Giving Day?

Online

It’s easy! You can make your gift from anywhere in the world:

  • Visit the official Husky Giving Day website at huskygivingday.uw.edu
  • Find the area(s) you care about and click “Give Now” to add your gift to your cart
  • Check out or browse for additional areas to support
  • When your cart is complete, check out to make your gift(s)
  • Contact 1-877-UW-GIFTS or give2uw@uw.edu if you need additional assistance

All transactions are secure, and your information will be used only by the University of Washington.


Mail and Donor-Advised Fund (DAF)

If you prefer to give by mail, please ensure your gift is received by April 23 to be counted in event totals. Additionally, please note that your gift is intended for Husky Giving Day 2026.

You can choose to give anywhere at the UW that holds special meaning for you. We’re grateful for your support!


How do I find my cause on the Husky Giving Day site?

Browse the site or use the search bar to find the areas you care about.

If you can’t find your area on the Husky Giving Day site when searching, please click “Make your Husky Giving Day gift here” as pictured below to see our full list of funds. Your gift will still count in Husky Giving Day totals.

When should I receive a receipt?

You will receive a confirmation email within a few minutes of making your Husky Giving Day gift. You will receive an official receipt for tax purposes a few weeks after the conclusion of the campaign. Need help with your receipt? Please email give2uw@uw.edu.


Can donors make gifts from outside the United States?

Yes! We are looking for donors from 15 countries to unlock a special Husky Giving Day challenge. We welcome gifts from abroad, but know international giving can come with challenges. For assistance in making an international gift, please email give2uw@uw.edu.


Will my employer match my gift?

Many employers offer matching gift programs that can double—or even triple—your contribution. Check with your company to see if your gift qualifies. While matching gifts increase your impact, they may not be included in Husky Giving Day totals.


Will 100% of my gift go to my designated area?

Yes! 100% of your gift supports the area of your choosing and makes a big difference for the people, programs and places you love at the UW.


Is my gift tax-deductible?

Yes. The University of Washington is a nonprofit institution, and your gift may be tax-deductible as a charitable contribution for federal tax purposes as allowed by IRS regulations. The UW Foundation’s federal tax ID is 94-3079432.


Challenge Funds

What makes my Husky Giving Day gift special?

By making your gift on April 23, you help your favorite UW schools, colleges and programs unlock additional funding in the form of challenge dollars provided by dedicated Huskies.

Real-time leaderboards, donor maps and fun surprises add excitement and show the collective impact of the Husky community.


Do Husky Giving Day challenges count toward my personal giving record?

If you made a gift to create a Husky Giving Day challenge, thank you! That gift counts toward your individual giving total. Gifts made by other donors in support of your challenge do not count towards your own totals. If you make a gift to participate in a challenge, challenge funds that you helped unlock amplify your impact, but do not count toward your individual giving total.
