UW Drama Career Launch
TO LAUNCH: to release, catapult, or send off; to spring forward; to set in motion; to make a start - Merriam-Webster Dictionary
THE NETWORK: HELP US GET IN THE ROOM
As a working actor, the greatest obstacle is "getting in the room." This tour offers us a unique opportunity for streamlined exposure. We can carry these professional connections into the launch of our careers, allowing us to flex our skills in a network of acquaintances, not strangers. Your contribution means that you will not only be investing in actors, you will be investing in artists who will change the future of the industry.
In Seattle, our showcase will be held in the Glenn Hughes Penthouse Theater, the oldest theatre-in-the-round in the country. We will perform in front of our home crowd: Seattle theatre artists and industry professionals from Seattle Repertory Theatre, Intiman Theatre, ACT - A Contemporary Theatre, and Seattle Shakespeare Company, just to name a few.
In LA, we have the pleasure of sharing the stage for the 16th time with The Juilliard School's graduating class at the Colony Theatre. After the performance, we have the opportunity to meet and greet casting directors from networks like ABC, CBS, and NBC, and giants like Disney, HBO, and Showtime. Also, we will see the sun for the first time in 3 years.
In addition, we are bringing New York casting agents and other industry professionals to us for a unique, hands-on workshop experience, and we are creating film and voice over reels that will continue to help us get in the room long after we have graduated.
Join us as we expand our network, and donate to our journey as we hit the pavement and learn what it is to live the life of the working actor.
WHO: We are the UW School of Drama PATP Class of 2019.
WHAT: We are preparing for our Career Launch, which includes showcases in Seattle and Los Angeles, workshops with New York casting agents, and creating film and voice over reels. We are raising money for travel expenses, theatre rental fees, and crew and equipment fees for our reels.
WHERE: The Glenn Hughes Penthouse Theater in Seattle and The Colony Theatre in LA
WHEN: We will film and record our reels in March. Our workshop with New York casting agents will be April 6-7. Our Seattle showcase will take place the evening of April 15th . Our LA showcase will be two performances on April 24th. We've got a lot to accomplish in a small amount of time!

THE CLASS OF 2019
ALLYSON LEE BROWN: The Powerhouse
Intelligent, charismatic, compassionate and outgoing are just a few words that aptly describe the persona of Allyson Lee Brown. A native of New Orleans, LA, Allyson has continued to hone her craft and passion for arts activism and diversity. In addition to her passion for acting, Allyson enjoys mentoring and encouraging youth to tap into their greatness.
TRICIA CASTAÑEDA-GONZALES: The Spirit
Tricia Castañeda-Gonzales brings passion and heart to our ensemble. Her sensitivity is preferably channeled through babies, puppies and Latinx/indigenous representation in the arts. A proud graduate of the International Stunt School, Tricia can be found rolling down a flight of stairs, jumping off of tall things or perfecting her smoldering cop look.
ALANA CHESHIRE: The Dreamer
Sensitive, sensual, and goofy, Alana Cheshire strives to make art that challenges the limits of our imagination. Whether she's singing an opera aria, practicing yoga, jamming on a new instrument, or teaching a new generation of artists, Alana is passionate about learning new things and keeping an open mind. She's a true Renaissance (wo)Man.
AJ FRIDAY: The Light
Originally from San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago, AJ's kind spirit and boisterous sense of humor never fail to light up the room. Along with more traditional acting, AJ plans to channel his artistic and technical skills into bringing theatre to new audiences through new technologies, such as Virtual Reality and 360-video production.
PHILLIP RAY GUEVARA: The Drive
Phillip Ray Guevara is the resident Texan of the group. He brings a wealth of professional experience and boundless energy to the ensemble with his unique combination of certifications in stage combat and stuntwork for film. Particularly fond of Shakespeare, Phillip can be seen wandering the streets, reciting soliloquies to his pet Chihuahua all over Seattle.
TAYLOR ROBERT JONES: The Architect
From a small white-picket-fence town in Massachusetts, Taylor Robert Jones is the ensemble's logician. His special interests lie in immersive/interactive theatre, film and television, and teaching. Along with acting, Taylor plans to create and implement a new British Theatre Seminar summer abroad program for undergraduate students.
ADRIAN TAFESH: The Revolution
A native of Fairfax, Virginia, Adrian believes in the power of acting to create meaningful experiences in which audiences feel compelled to respond and step outside of themselves for a moment. Enthusiastic, uplifting, and humble, Adrian is excited to bring his artistic skills and joy for collaboration into the world of television after graduation.
