We've successfully reached our $10,000 goal thanks to generous donations from friends, family, and sponsors. Any further donations will go towards travel expenses for Germany and Spain, funding additional critical components for our eCar, and paying for any and all resources needed to be a successful Formula team! With your continued support, we will be race ready at highly competitive international events. We still have a ways to go before we are fully prepared for three FSAE competitions. All donations of any size and shape are still appreciated.
With first drive quickly approaching, we have been working hard to get this car rolling. Here are some updates from the past few weeks:
Thanks to all the hard work from our chassis team, the monocoque chassis has been completed! It has already been painted and its true livery is vinyl wrapped under car camo. No peeking until Unveiling in May!
Electronics and Firmware team have been hard at work assembling and flashing boards. Thanks to Omair, our resident circuits wiz, the mainboard has been fully assembled and is serving as the supervisory board of the BMS.
The undertray is complete, the rear wing mounts have been waterjetted, and the carbon front wing mounts are prepped for testing. The Composites manufacturing and Aero teams pitched in to carefully lay up the undertray through the night and by light, it was ready to be cured.
On Drivetrain, the scattershields and motor mounts are assembled and ready to drop into the drivetrain. Special thanks to our shop master, Reggie, for laying down some beautiful welds on very thin aluminum. On top of that, the one piece carriers, motor horns, CV housings and inserts have been manufactured.
In eTrain news, creation of our wiring harnesses has begun! Below is one section of the front harness. Once its complete, it will power driver interfaces and ANACAN.
As for our suspension team, many parts have arrived back from anodization, including several brackets, bell cranks, and brake rotors.Additionally, A-arms have been heat treated and are set to be parkerized in the upcoming days. At this rate, we'll soon have a rolling chassis.
